The Ultimate tier includes Game Pass for PC and Xbox, EA Play, and access to cloud gaming. Microsoft currently has three tiers for the service: Game Pass Core, Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate. The Xbox Game Pass promises its subscribers a vast catalog of games at a fraction of the cost of an AAA title - one of the most prominent selling points of the Xbox platform. A new document published by the European Commission reveal how many subscribers are on the highest tier of the Xbox Game Pass. The tech giant recently closed a deal with Activision Blizzard worth $69 billion to bolster its library of titles on the game subscription service.

While inflation and other various economic factors ensured this was inevitable, some Game Pass subscribers can't help but notice this come right as, in their opinion, the quality of the subscription service has dipped. However, some subscribers have been less understanding. The combination of the minuscule increase and the fact that this is the first increase so far was enough to keep most Xbox Game Pass subscribers pacified. Microsoft shared this news earlier this week, noting the standard version is increasing from $9.99 a month to $10.99 a month, while the Ultimate tier will increase from $14.99 a month to $16.99 a month. It's the first time since its inception Xbox Game Pass will increase in price. Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate are both seeing price increases on July 6.
